Café Satchmo

Review based on one visit. Small indoor space with poor ventilation and a tiny terrace where smoking is allowed. The food looked fresh but was mostly just plain greens and salads. Coffee was underwhelming, and the price was shocking: lunch for two adults and a 5-year-old came to 88€.

March 2023 -3 stars: We went here again because it was one of the only good cafes open on Sundays. The cafe americano was good, the kokos cookies as well. The carrot cake was not as expected. Dry and not jucy. The best in this Cafe is def the Apple cake. This time I wanted a Porridge again, but they dont serve it anymore. One waiter tried to present me something similar, but then his collegue came and said that none of this is possible because they just closed the kitchen. It was at 15:10 and the Cafe closes at 16:00. I was really disappointed and wont say that’s a good customer service. April 2022 - 4stars: We had a really nice brunch at Cafe Satchmo yesterday. The weather was perfect but a bit cold, so we searched for a cozy Cafe. And we found it. Cafe Satchmo is furnished with cozy and vintage seats and offers healthy and modern food. We ordered cake, hot drinks and porridge. The apple cake was delicious and the price of 40kr is normal for danish standards... The coffee had a good taste too, but for a "big cup" was the cup way too small and therefore the price too high. My porridge was a huge portion for this price and topped with lots of fruits, so the amount was perfect! In my view, the porridge was bit to thick and to give it a taste, I had to use a lot of the fruit pieces, so they were empty quick. When you have pure porridge then, something is missing > so I would suggest that the Cafe is going to top the porridge with more different toppings including some liquid ingredients just like peanut butter of a fruit compote or frozen berries (I love it sooo much, it gives this special and cool taste to the warm porridge). But I would definitely recommend this cafe! Have a great time there :)

It is a pretty cozy place but also quite average for this type of cafe. Reminds me og Bevar’s Recommended for - people who cant find a spot anywhere else and dont mind the prices. Conclusion - Acceptable coffee, fine place but a bit boring and pricy.
