The Folk Cafe

I came to this place so many times during my stay in Odense and tried different stuff from their menu. I definitely recommend. Loved the porridge, avocado toast and the pumpkin latte, perfect for the winter. I just wish my cup of coffee was bigger 😭

Had a pour over by IDEAL, and a cortado as a “Cheeky blend” by DAK. Pour over tasted OK, quite tame, somewhat generalized, although not without a bit of nice red berry acidity. The espresso blend made me suspect it wasn’t DAK, since all the DAK stuff is usually great, but this one was too strong on the dark chocolate taste, too intense. Felt like medium+ roast. I’d kindly suggest that the cafe implements a pour over menu. When asked what coffees are available as a pour over, I was pointed at the shelf with the 5 coffees, but the shelf is far away, and I, with my perfect vision, could not really see what’s there. I had to ask to bring certain coffees closer to me in order to see what is says on the bag, but it’s so counterintuitive and inconvenient. Another way would be to put all the coffees closer on the glass top, so at least the customer can see them. Or, again, just implement the pour over menu where all the coffees are listed, so the customer can see the coffees and their descriptions clearly, along with the prices.
